Surry Baptist Association paints again…

The residents of Hinkle House had special visitors at their home on Saturday, April 17th. The Surry Baptist Association again sent a group of men to help paint the interior of Hinkle House. Both staff bedrooms were painted a sunny yellow color. Marcie, Nicole, and Marylene did a devotion with the group and sang a preview of the songs they will be singing in a May performance at First Baptist Church in Mt. Airy.

A new resident at HInkle

Emily moved in on Wednesday, Marth 24th,completing our group at Hinkle House. Emily had formerly lived at the Baptist House on property when it was operational several years ago and loved the idea of being reunited with her friends and her former roomates at Hinkle House. Welcome to our family, Emily! Prior to coming to live, Emily spent two weekends with the group to make sure that everyone felt good about the placement. Emily re-arranged her room with her family and loved the new lavender paint color and matching sheets and accessories.

Thanks Surry Baptist Association for all your help

Hinkle House extends a large thanks to all the participants of the Surry Baptist Association men's group that spent many days coming to paint at the Hinkle House. The residents each had their bedroom painted a wonderful lavender color and the rest of the interior was painted a sunny yellow. The men's group under the leadership of Billy Blakely also re-furbished the outdoor benches with new wood. Thanks for all of your help.

On 12/4/09, this holiday concert season will start for them when they go to a performance at Old Town Baptist Church. They then have scheduled over the weekend to go to a gospel concert also and to view the Christmas parade in Winston-Salem. They have also been decorating the house for the holiday and preparing a menu for the upcoming Christmas open house at Hinkle. Way to get into the Christmas spirit ladies.
