Special Ministries Sunday

First Baptist Church does so much to ensure our residents have an opportunity to worship God in the way that makes them feel most comfortable. Annually, FBC holds Special Ministries Sunday and our group as well as others get to share their praise. The residents practiced each Wednesday night for months to put this program together. This year the theme was "An Attitude of Gratitude". We were reminded that there is always something to be thankful for and that we should never miss an opportunity to show God how thankful we are for his love.Mary reads a scripture.

Mary reads a scripture.

The entire Sonshine Group sings beautifully.

Debbie uses her special gift and translates a scripture into sign language.

Thank you so much to everyone that helped put this years' program together and to everyone that came out to see us!

Our Night to Shine

What an amazing and special time of year! The Tim Tebow Foundation's Night to Shine Prom is one of Lanier Home's favorite annual events. This year they got to take full advantage of all of the prom perks, from professionally-done hair and make-up to a photo booth to a limo ride! The surprises and excitement seemed to be non-stop as the night continued. The ladies participated in shopping at Timmy's Closet for the perfect dress and jewelry, tradition that they look forward to each year. They looked fabulous in the formal wear. We would like to send a huge thank you to Life Springs Church and everyone in our communitythat made this evening special for us!

Paddleboats at Happy Day Camp

We are still enjoying our summer at Lanier Home! The Lanier ladies had a chance to participate in Happy Day Camp again this year.  It was so exciting to go out on the lake in paddleboats and explore nature for the day. Safety was our first priority as we suited up with lifejackets and used the buddy system. The ladies look forward to attending this event each year and it was another event for the books! We are so thankful to be included in the Sanford community!

We’ve Been Busy!

Spring is our favorite time of year here at Lanier Home! We are always looking for new fun things to do.

A visit and tour of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill's Baseball facilities showed us all how much hard work goes into creating an awesome baseball program! The residents got a chance to meet coaches and players and even got to sit in the dugout. Go Heels!

The ladies go for a walk at San-Lee Park and take a break to pet a dog.

Lee County Arts Council Hosts Day Program

The Lee County Arts Council hosted a class just for the residents in our DDM Day Program. LCAC supports art appreciation and artistic expression for each member of the community who is interested in participating in Lee County's thriving art world. The ladies of Lanier, along with Mercer Home, had the ooportunity to enjoy a private  class where they created beautiful watercolor paintings. Many of our residents enjoy art and all were excited to learn about different techniques of painting. Our Day Program uses field trips and outings in the community to encourage inclusion and participation of our residents. A special thank -you goes out to our Day Program Instructors for planning the event and encouraging the residents to try something new!

Two residents explore their art talents by using markers and paints to create masterpieces.
