Valentine’s Dessert Party!

image

Ladies from Willowdale Baptist Church came to Joy Cove to throw a Valentine’s Dessert Party for the residents. They brought a delicious spread of desserts and punch. Each resident was presented with a boutonnière or a corsage for Valentine’s Day and they gave a sweet treat bag to each staff member. We are really grateful for the support we receive from our local churches especially Willowdale on this special day!

Caitlin from the Watauga County Health Department came out to Joy Cove to do a nutrition education program for the residents on February 21. Cailtin presented the staff and residents information on plate education (the amount of each type of food that you should have on your plate), discussions on fruits and vegetables, and a powerpoint presentation on nutrition education in general. We are very appreciative to the Watauga County Health Department and Caitlin for increasing our knowledge on healthy living.
