Several former WWE wrestlers were on the card. The card included Matt Hardy, Scott Steiner, the Rock-N-Roll Express and The Barbarian. Justin was the only male from Joy Cove to go to the event. He enjoyed himself and hanging out with the ladies from Lindsay Home.

Joy Cove Goes to Bo’s

The residents and staff traveled to Bo’s in Lenior for unlimited bowling, lazer tag, and arcade games. All of the residents had a great time and went to Wendy’s for dinner afterwards. The staff even got to enjoy the games. Everyone had a great time playing around and hanging out with their family. Wendy’s in Lenoir were so great to staff and residents. They gave the van drivers a free meal and gave everyone a free frosty of their choice. We are very grateful to have the opportunity to eat with them on this outing.

Everybody was Kung Fu Fightin’
During the Adult Services Expo on May 1st, Justin and his fellow Kung Fu buddies performed in the middle of the Boone Mall. They showed off their skills they have learned over the past 4 years of taking Kung Fu. Justin had the support of all of the spectators in the mall, the people providing booths in the expo and his friends from the group home and his workshop. Justin does an excellent job with remembering all of the stances, kicks, and hits that are involved with practicing and performing. We are very proud of you Justin!

April’s Joy Cove Super Star!!
April’s Super Star is Cass! Cass achieved a 14 percent increase on his goals from March to April, he has done an excellent job on learning to hang up his clothes, and is a great snow and skate boarder! We are very proud of you Cass! When a resident is chosen to be the Joy Cove Super Star they receive a variety of goodies. They get an award certificate with their name on it, a sweet treat recognizing what a good job they have done, and a chance to get a prize off the prize board! The prizes they are eligible to receive include extra phone time, their choice of a special dinner to prepare, a chore free day, one on one time with a staff of their choice, or picking something out of the treasure chest! Cass was able to pick a prize from the treasure chest! We are proud of the progress that all of the residents at Joy Cove are making and want them to know it! Since beginning Joy Cove Super Star there has been a huge increase in the average percentages on their goals! You guys are awesome!
