Union County Competes in Track & Field Qualifier
The Union County team traveled to Kernersville on Saturday, May 1st, to compete in the Track & Field Qualifier for Special Olympics. It was a hot, humid day but our athletes shined despite the weather conditions.
Ronnie won 1st place in the 100M Race Walk; 3rd place in the 400M Race Walk, and 3rd place in the Shotput.
Mike won 1st place in the Softball Throw, 2nd place in the Standing Long Jump, and he received a participant ribbon in the 50M Walk.
Sedrick won 1st place in the 25M Wheelchair Race, 1st place in the 100M Wheelchair Race, and 5th place in the Softball Throw.
Carey won 1st place in the 400M Race Walk, 2nd place in the 100M Race Walk, and 2nd place in the Shotput.
Billy won 1st place in the Shotput, 1st place in the 200M Dash, and 5th place in the 100M Dash.
Congratulations to all of our athletes. They will go on to compete in the State Special Olympic Games for Track & Field in Raleigh June 5th and 6th. We are so proud of all of them!
