Stegall Home Residents Compete in the State Basketball Games for Special Olympics
The residents of Stegall Home went to Winston-Salem, Saturday, March 6th, to compete in the State Games for Special Olympics. David played 3:3 basketball with his team the Union Ultimates- they played 2 games and brought home the bronze medal.
Ronnie, Carey, Billy and Mike competed in different divisions doing individual basketball skills. There was fierce competition. Ronnie, Carey and Billy won Gold medals and Mike received a bronze medal.
Sedrick competed doing individual cheerleading skills- he was judged for his spirit, appearance, high V, low V, leg kicks, and loudness. He won the Gold medal for his division doing the cheer he is famous for “Pump It Up”.
We are so proud of all the athletes. The medals were not their shining moments, but rather the way they cheered everyone on, and wanted all of the other athletes to do well and be successful. Their true spirit shined through, and that was the love of Jesus! Congratulations, guys! We love you!
