Stegall Home Raises the Bar at Special Olympic State Games
The residents of Stegall Home competed at the Summer Games in Raleigh for Special Olympics Track & Field. Despite the blistering hot weather conditions our athletes shined and persevered. They were winners all the way around not only in their events, but also through their excellent sportsmanship.
Carey brought home the Gold Medal for the 100M Fast Walk, and the Bronze Medal for the Shotput.
Ronnie brought home the Gold Medal for the 100M Fast Walk, and the Silver Medal for the Shotput.
Sedrick brought home 2 Gold Medals for his 25M Wheelchair and 100M Wheelchair Races.
Mike brought home 2 Gold Medals for the Softball Throw and Standing Long Jump.
Billy brought home the Bronze Medal for Shotput, and a 4th place ribbon in the 100M Dash.
David competed in 4 events and received Gold Medals for the 200M Dash and 800M Dash, then Silver Medals for the 400M Dash and 4x100M Relay.
Congratulations to all of our Special Olympians! We could not be any prouder!
