FUN, FOOD, FELLOWSHIP and FRIENDS

What more could you ask for?  The day was sunny and beautiful after having rained all week.  Saturday, March 13th, was a day for fishing, fun, food, fellowship and making new friends.  The residents of Stegall Home hosted a cookout and fishing day for their friends from Davis House in Winston-Salem, and Mercer Home in Sanford.  We grilled hamburgers and hot dogs, and had all the fixin’s to go with it- baked beans, macaroni salad, red skin potato salad, deviled eggs, and of course DESSERT!  We enjoyed sitting around and learning more about each other and the things we had in common.

Then we headed to the pond- we were a little chilly, but excitement was in the air as the rods were cast into the water and we waited for the fish to take the bait.  John W.  started us off by catching a huge bass.  Then Marshall caught a huge catfish.  Then we think Billy kept catching the same little fish over and over again.  We got lots of good pictures, but more importantly we made lasting friendships.

We will continue to get together at least once a quarter despite the distance between us and we can’t wait to see everyone again!
