Community Heroes Teach Valuable Lessons
The Compensatory Education Class that our residents attend at South Piedmont Community College took a trip yesterday afternoon to the Monroe Police Station and Monroe Fire Station #5. David asked how it felt to be handcuffed so the officer offered to show him- he refused- so “brave” Ronnie stepped up to the plate. He was handcuffed and taken away! The class was allowed to watch some of the police videos from the cameras in the police cars, and were told how this is vital to their investigations. They got to tour the evidence room and the interrogation room. We sincerely appreciate the officers time and explanation of things.
At the fire station they were shown the trucks and all of the equipment in the trucks. They toured the station in order to see where the firefighters eat and sleep. They were SHOCKED to learn that the firefighters have to take turns cleaning and cooking! Thank you Monroe Fire Station #5 for your hospitality.
Thank you for your service and dedication! God Bless!
