Merry Christmas, Cowgirl!

imageimage

Dr. Mayhew and staff hosted their annual Christmas party for the clients at Watauga Opportunities and the group homes in Watauga County at Greenway Baptist Church this year. The theme of the party was a wester theme. The residents were given cowboy hats, handkerchiefs, sheriff badges, and little jean sacks when they arrived at the party. The dentist office provided pizza, chips, dessert, and drink for the attendees followed by a boot-scoot-and-boogie on the dance floor! As always Santa arrived just in time to give each resident $10 in a small plastic boot! Everyone had a great time of fun and fellowship!

Zionhill Comes to Zionville!

image

The youth group from Zionhill Baptist Church in Bladenboro NC came to visits and do crafts with the residents to sale at the Socially Aware Holiday Fair back in November. The youth group helped make snowmen christmas ornaments, tooth brush.paste holders, assortment of candy packages, and fish for a fishing game while they were here. The youth decorated a pillow case for each resident before arriving at the group homes and gave them to the residents when they arrived. The youth and leaders were so touched by the residents while they were visiting they had a church wide project to collect gifts for each resident for Christmas. Each resident recieved a gift after Christmas and open it individually to have their own special gift opening moment! We are very grateful that a church so far away from our group homes would take the time and effort to do so much for our residents. The residents and staff are very appreciative of Zionhill Baptist Church!

Made with Love…Given with Prayers

The ladies received homemade winter hats from Gatesville Baptist Chruch for Christmas. Each hat was hand made one for each of our ladies and blessed by the pastor of the church and the congregation. We appreciate the hats to keep each resident warm but we are more grateful for the prayers and thoughts that went into making each and everyone! Thank you Gatesville Baptist Church!
