Suceeding at Sandhills Community College
Sandhills Community College (SCC) Compensatory Education Program is a jewel of a day program for our residents in Sanford. All of our residents attend this program to varying degrees. Those who are already employed attend when they are not working and those who are not yet employed are learning valuable job skills for future employment. Recently, all of our residents who participated in the Disability Mentoring Day received an award for participating. In addition, we currently we have two residents, one from Mercer and one from Lanier, enrolled in the JOBS NOW program. Both of them have chosen the food service industry, and they are receiving both hands-on, as well as classroom instruction, which is preparing them for a job in the community. Way to go!
