Bolick Believers see the Charlotte Bobcats LIVE!
Asheville has seen an abundance of snow this year! We kept our fingers crossed that snow would not fall as January 15th got closer since we had been given FREE tickets to see the Charlotte Bobcats take on the New Orleans Hornets. We were able to make the trip and see these NBA teams get fired up for the fans. The residents and staff also got to enjoy free hot dogs, sodas, popcorn, and new ear plugs with the Bobcats emblem. The Charlotte Bobcats cheerleaders greeted the residents with smiles and gave autographs. What a fun night!

DDM Administration Enjoys Fun and Learning at the Beach
DDM Administration, which includes office staff and state-wide administrators, enjoyed some fun and learning together at the BCH beach cottage this past fall. It’s not often you get to be in a relaxing, stress-free environment and have the opportunity to get to know the people you work with everyday. Building relationships between co-workers is essential in being able to work as a team in day to day life on the job. We worked hard during our trip, as this was our scheduled quarterly meeting. But, we played, too! We visited the Cape Lookout lighthouse, road a boat, saw wild horses, and even helped some local fisherman catch some fish. The weather was perfect for a day out on the ocean! We enjoyed our time at the BCH beach cottage and look forward to doing this again one day!

Way to Go Bolick Believers!
Congratulations Bolick Believers!
Russell brought home the gold at the Special Olympics Soccer State Games held in High Point this past weekend.
Rob, Matt, and Alex won 4th place in their divisions!
We are so proud of each of you! Their spirits were soaring when they arrived home and were happy to show off their medal and ribbons.

Vacation bible school
The residents at Alverta Bolick are enjoying their “Summer guests” from different youth groups. This past Saturday a youth group came to teach the residents about God’s creation. They made books for each day of creation and colored the pages as well as learned the creation story. Many of the boys walked away realizing that God is the creator of everything, but most importantly that God is the creator of each one of them and has made them each unique and perfect in His image.

DDM Enjoys a Day in Thomasville for Family Gathering 3
Family Gathering was established in 2000 by Dr. Blackwell and comes around only every five years. This day brings together every staff member, child, and resident from across all of BCH’s areas and services in North Carolina. When you put all those folks together, you get one of the largest “families” in the state! This year, DDM was very involved in various games and activities. The favorite hit (no pun intended) was the dunking booth. Our residents loved dunking the staff members of BCH. They had no mercy! The smiles on their faces were indescribable. Our DDM staff and residents also enjoyed the large, bouncy inflatables, McDonald’s burgers, looking for their tapestry squares, and listening to great music and testimony under “God’s beautiful canopy”. The day continued with a parade, praise and worship at the church, and a historical skit by Professor Q and his funny assistant, Beeker. The day ended with us capturing our first DDM group photo ever made, and many hugs were exchanged before departing from each other. It was simply a great day for all of BCH!
